This must be the best 60minutes of my entire conversation on Skype. Correction.

I think it's the most rewarding and very rare investment i've done with time .

Time as many has put it- cannot be earned, but it's the way you spent it that counts.

Dad-husband, father to five beautiful children, pilot, filial son, loving brother and a friend who looks out for the other. Knowing the heart of a man is gold. Not just any man i say, the heart of a father. The heart of a brother, he looks out to fend for himself and maybe sometimes come to check on his family. The heart of a sister, she's interested in her self-esteem, her desires, her dreams and many unsearchable things. The heart of a mother, she nurtures, cooks, cleans and makes all things pretty.

About fathers, how many fathers can you find in this world that's so similar to your own? Look no further my beloved. My father and your father may play similar roles, but they are certainly special in their own ways.

On the 2nd October 2010,the skies were still dark and not a sound in the hall. *ring ring* the Skype's video call notification blasted through the silence. It's him-my daddy.It started with the you know casual chat. Hi how are you? What time is it there now? So how's your studies going? Then it came to the question where most international students (mostly Malaysians i think) have to decide if Australia is the place for them for good. And so the conversation developed into matters of the possibility of staying abroad for good and chances of getting sent back to Asia . But beyond these things, many began to unfold as we talked and talked.

It was the heart of a daughter , her troubled life of a final semester uni student. She dreads the already sky-high assignments mounting on her to-do list. Her mind races through the train of uncertainties for her future. To stay or not to stay in Adelaide. Her emotions were like waves of tsunami , churning as time ticks away. Then tears welled up in her eyes as she narrates how she was at the verge of giving up on this last league of varsity life to this man's heart of gold. He listened and listened, never once did he budge in to provide solution. The wonders of men is that they love to provide THE solution to everything, they want to feel significant that they are able to do something for you. Okay so maybe i exaggerated it too much, not solution to everything, but to most of life crisis i suppose. Little boys all pray that one day they will be the hero to a madame in distress. Oh that one day will come i tell you.

It came for her dad. After emptying the all her worries to him, he crack into a wry smile. And he did what the majority of men on earth would do-Solution to the lil' missy. He shared his fair share of experience from his time serving at the air force to workforce in Nigeria, South Africa. Boy how she nods in agreement as she listened intently. Her eyes still fixed on him, not disturbed by the subtle hint of tiredness in her body at 2 o'clock in the morning. Never have she heard so much from his heart, the utter truth where no books written even by the best authors in the world could capture the essence of this man's life's story. He's like this ever so freshly blossomed flower in a field infested with nothing but weeds. Instantly, she knew it was God that has drawn this man out of his pit of dark shadows.

It didn't take too long before the both of them were in tears. Life is sure hard when you try to be hero on your own. He thanked God that His blessings are upon his life, his job and most importantly his family. Never did he once as a little boy dreamed of flying overseas, not even a thought of sending his two beautiful daughters to study abroad. Work smart and play hard he did. Getting into the positive encouraging circle of friends he did. Strong blows of discouragement came and he took it like a man. And where this Captain is now, is truly to God's glory that he is blessed beyond men can ask. Yes he is not perfect, who ever thinks perfect is best has never really appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of others.

So how many shiny gold bars did she get from this man? Not even one, but that night her weary heart got light up brighter than the shiniest gold star you have ever seen. His precious time spent on his daughter was the most precious gift he could have given to her. A father who is constantly away from his family, just to be here talking to him, even a mere one hour out of the twenty-four he has in a day, is simply GOLD.

So I've learnt that you must a vision, but dear you have to work on your short term goals. Most definitely, my goal now is to complete those sick assignments and GRADUATE ! *throws imaginary graduation hat in the air*

Be strong and courageous girl, you are so much more than what meets the eye :)

Faith is like a toothbrush

I heard it over the radio last night, 'Faith is like a toothbrush, you gotta' use them daily' .

How true is that? Everyday the first thing out from bed- brush your teeth. Every night the last thing before popping in to bed- brush your teeth. It's like without toothbrush, you day will somehow lead to a series of uneventful scenarios.

Okay for example, you have decided not to brush your teeth that morning, you head straight out to work. You said 'Hi' to your colleagues. And you keep getting the same responses from everyone else- quirky hands looks, over their nose, eyes wide open in disbelief .. .etc. You get the drill. It stinks my friend.

So what has faith got to do with toothbrush again?

Faith is the act of believing even when our naked eyes don't see it. Where does my faith in God come from?

It is said :

"But how can people call for help if they don't know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven't heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it?...The point is: Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ's Word is preached, there's nothing to listen to".-Romans 10:17 @ The Message.

Thus, faith comes from hearing the message. And it is by grace through faith that we have been saved, a relationship between us and God is forged.

Linking that to my analogy earlier. Faith is like toothbrush because I use it daily to communicate with Him. I use it daily to believe. I use it daily to receive His promises and blessings over my life. Brush it up, brush it down. Whether your teeth is in its best condition or worst, you still gotta brush it right? In good or bad times, always maintain your faith !

Just wanted to encourage you to have faith that God will guide in your every endeavors.

Expect the unexpected today :)

I would March in

March in Adelaide it's filled with sights, sounds, fun and spectators.

I figured you won't know what i'm saying, well since South Australia is THE Festival State, it would only make sense if we have a dozen of events every now and then. And this March, we are pretty eventful, events such as Adelaide Fringe Festival that runs from 19th Feb to 14th March, The Garden of Unearthly Delights, Adelaide Festival of Arts and heaps more.

I can go on and on and rave about what's hot in town.

But let's shut up for a moment, and take a look at ourself.
Right. It's the second week of uni, and I'm typing away what's hip and happening in town, and that just makes me feel just a tad bit miserable.

Why?

Answer: Well, first assignments for the semester are due like in 3 weeks away, and i've not gotten around doing it yet. Gah ! Stop dreaming away already Eva, you've got to be serious, it's your final year here. It's either you make it or break it.

*pause*
Okay that was my mind rambling away on its own.

You get that a lot from me . Haha. No kidding alright.

So yeah where were we just now? "...a tad bit miserable" I say ? Yeap. I'm feeling just a tad bit cause it's almost a week now since I last decided to go to Adelaide Fringe. I kid you not, our lecturers over at Adelaide actually encourages us to go for it. Hmm.. partly it's the course that i;m doing now - Event Management. And partly, they want us to analyse how this event was carried, how succesfull it went, and I guess the invaluable novel experience we'll get by the end of the day.

Besides that, what's new with Ewaewae in Adelaide?

Alright alright, I have decided to try my very best to update this online diary of mine.
It's not an easy feat, especially when you've got assignments, work related commitments, readings and *pause* fine they are all just lame excuses . I admit I'm no good at keeping this blog alive. Where has the passion gone to?
Has she got a new lead this year?
Truth be told -
I've been in a rocky situation lately, it's my heart .
Let's not go to that section now...

I've just had a lovely Pixies picnic @ the Botanic Garden with 5 totally lovable girls- Ashley, Biyu a.k.a Fish, Doreen a.k.a Dodo, Janice dong dong Chiang and Hwee Sim.

Isn't it lovely having a bunch of fun loving pixies chatting away under the afternoon sun?
The weather was just perfect. Kids were running everywhere, playing hide-and-seek from tree to tree. I guess we picked the right day aye !

Uncle Smith must be really proud that we are endorsing his potato chip here .

We had like spaghetti meatballs, milk topped with Milo powder, fried noodles, egg sandwiches, healthy biscuit dips and chocolates for all.

See I told you girls just cannot go wrong with pink.

Hey don't get me wrong here, am not sayin all girls love pink, but it's a color that identifies feminie, yes, no? okay, you can keep your opinion while i stick to mine.

Dunk & Dip those crackers -try Beetroot for a change.

Hmm.. let's see Beetroot has some health benefits, despite lookin' like some funky pink stuff.
So as i was saying, beetroot offers a great deal of antioxidants that helps 'protect our bodies from damanging free radicals' ( 2008, OrganicFood.com.au)
That's some good news to all of us right?
So don't you dare look pass this pink stuff the next time you see it lying on the veg section.

Relax and unwind

It's Summer time :)
I can hear the birds chirping away, sun shine on my face, soft breeze blowing against my cheeks .
It's a great day i say !

After doing some food shopping with mi hommie this morning, I decided 'hey it's a great day to bake Blueberry with White Chocolate chunks muffins aye' . And so i did. The outcome was not only edible.. haha but it tasted just as what i've thought.
Sorry guys no pictures this time, cause I'm just too tired? *smirks*

Anyways, so after baking session Wei Qin and I head straight to Rundle Mall to check out some early Christmas goodies. We walked from one end to the other and only got more grocerris.

Reason being :
1. We SO SO wanted to have Cold Rock ice-cream, which was awesome. Of course !
2. Focussed as we are, not to SPLURGE .
I know this is very rare of me. But guess what people, let me share with you one tinnie tiny secret. I saw this cute pair of white sandal and another pair of leather top flats at Miss Glady, and promised myself to return to get by end of this month. So let's see if they are still there when i return aye !
3. No other reason :P

And so we walked and window shopped much. Praise God for it's an amazing weather today. It's sunnya nd windy at the same time. Perfecto ! Just the way I like it.

Oops it's time to meet up with Deborah Chew, another shopaholic on the loose :P

20th at Adelaide

ehhhhloww people !

I know it's been a very long time since I last updated.
Exams are over since last Friday , and holidays are ON :D

Before sharing what I've been up to this holiday, just wanna share my experience of turning 20 in Adelaide.

It all started with a parcel from Malaysia from mi bestie :)

This darling got mi a pair of cute brown boots with lace and a hooded white winter wear.

Also, the VERY PINK birthday card she got for me is standing tall on mi study table.

"Dear darl, thanks for sending over mi b'day gift and I know the weeks and time you've spent preparing this. It's a lot of work and planning and making it sure that it arrives on time ..gosh .. WELL DONE bestie ! I love you very very much :) "

Next, I got a second parcel from mi sister, Adelyn .
She got me this lovely dark PINK Lorna Jane sports wear ( top & bottom) !
Awesome sis i have eh ? Well well this is how elder sister treat their mui mui :)
Buy 'em stuffs we love and adore .

"Thank you jie jie Adelyn! I'll see you at Perth this coming February"

Not forgetting my family members back in Malaysia sent me 2 lovely postcards to tell their lovely sister/daughter that they didn't miss her birthday. LOL .. it arrived late, but it's the thought that counts , correct? haha

Lucky last, my dear Overseas Christian Fellowship (OCF) friends gave me the wildiest birthday suprise ever last night. * scream scream scream*
You see my birthday so happends to be during the SWOT VAC week, students take this 2 weeks of study break seriously, to revise and submit final assignments.
Honestly, I felt kinda sad at first cause I couldn't celebrate with them, everyone was burried dead with their textbooks, lecture notes ...
But you know what, my Big Daddy knows best how to surprise me !

Last night at Jasmine's pot bless party @ UV apartment, my OCF friends gathered together and suprise all the November babies with a Chocolate Cake . Yes another CHOCOLATE cake :D
Ahh this year, it has just been so much of chocolate for mi.

That's just not it, 30 of them had secretly plan for 2 months to get me a electric acoustic guitar ! It's a LED20CE model guys. AHHhhhh am still very excited by it *gasp*

So yeap that was how my friends and I celebrated my 20th in Adelaide. Many will say that Adealide is boring, yeah the place may not offer the entertainment you seek. But really it's the people you meet that makes a whole lot of difference. I look forward to 2010 :)

November is now

I realized that it has been more than 3 weeks since the last update.

Just this week, Carrington LG went out for dinner at Goodlife restaurant situated at Glenelg.
It's not the organic flour nor filtered water, but it's the tasty Free Range Roasted Duck pizza that got me excited. It's a must try guys !!
And of course, the fellowship we had was awesome too.
And and I met another Deborah in Adelaide *wooohoo* .
She's currently studying medicine and is Malaysian juga bah :)
Deborah is not a common name okay, not Debrah or Debra but Deborah :)
Right enough Eva stop raving bout your name already.

Next ..
Mi thoughtful housemates ( Wei Qin & Lydea) and of course my running buddy Mao Mao decided to take me out for mi 20th birthday .
We went to Scoozi, where I had pizza again.
Take note: I don't craze over pizza, it just so happend that I have pizza again.

Not Coffee Bean, but Chocolate Bean.
I love love love to DRINK chocolate, but not Eat chocolate in case you don't already know.
We shared this massive sinful Death By Chocolate cake !
I'm not a foodie myself, don't know how to describe it , but it's nothing like your typical chocolate slice of cake.
It didn't taste cakey at all, but soft, sweet and chocolty.
That's all i can say .. ahhhh I'm bloated *buuurp*

Update: City to Bay Fun Run 2009

Today marks the second day of my 2 weeks holiday here in Adelaide !

Yesterday evening, a friend of mine ( Xiao Wen) texted me asking if I was on front page of The Advertiser. Well, since it was raining and it's a holiday , I didn't bother to leave home to get the newspaper. So, today after doing some stocking up with my housemates at Coles , we got Monday's and today's The Advertiser newspaper from our friendly Newsagency at Hutt St .

It was awesome to be part of this run, as there were about 29 thousand participants that Sunday morning that turned up for the run.

Can you imagine how big the event is?
Along the 12km stretch of road , there were cheer leaders to kick in some enthusiasm, live music bands, some independant musical acts , lil kids smiling away accompanied by their pet dogs, photographers, as well as free sunscreen lotions and icy cold water to rehydrate us runners, and participants with disabilities.

Amazing, amazing simply amazing.
I never thought I could finish this race at all, with 2 blisters on my heels and the lack of training.
But hey, I prayed that these blisters will not hurt me whilst I run , and true enough, God answered my prayer. Wooohoo ! God is great , remember that !

Now for the moment we've been waiting ... ...

Hoorayy ! I managed to complete it in 1 hour , 17 minutes and 36 seconds :)
That's a record fellas, never have I ran thus far.

Last but not least, I would like to thank my hommie ( Wei Qin) and Mao for training me up. You know , these 2 gals are my sifu . Week after week, we've been training for this run, 3 times a week tau !
Not forgetting Cheryl Ho, my chirpy friend who ran together-getha with me during the City to Bay Fun Run. it was so much running with this gal, we motivated one another to keep runnning, if not slow jog throughout the race, but of course slowing down at 3 stops to rehydrate ourselves with cups of icy cold water and a few good slabs of free sunblock lotions .
And yeah, mi mommy who cooked yummiieee food for mi these 2 weeks.

Yahooo ! God is indeed good, wait .. that's not right. He's far more better than that.

It's that time of the month. No no.. not that time lah.
What i was referring to was Girl's Ministry! *woohoooo*
This time we touched on the topic of Life Stages , by Deborah Tan :D

On a very chilly Saturday noon, the group of us decided to check out Morialta Park.
It's my first first time there, and I've fallen in love with the nature's beauty.

Basically, what we've learn from this outing was that in this life we can plan all we want.
We may plan what we wanna be , where we wanna be, who we wanna be in the future.

But do you know who the author of your life is?
You guessed it right - GOD.

You see, since He is the author and pilot of my life. I might as well let Him direct the path.
None of us have lived without the existence of pain, right? I believe each and everyone of us have gone through personal struggles and what nots.

Instead of taking life all by yourself, why not surrender it all to God who sees you as His beloved children ?

It's here and it's big !

It's the Royal Adelaide Show (RAS) it for a princess :P

Yesterday, Lydea , mi mom and me went and see for ourselves what RAS has to offer to the South Aussies.

The RAS is organized annually. And every year, they have over 500 commercial exhibitors including farm animals, thrill rides, confectionery, South Australia's best wines, olive oils, handcrafts, outstanding range of vehicles just for car enthusiasts and much more.

So yea we got there by train, it was a pleasant ride :)
Just a station away from the city's Railway Station !

The first thing that caught my twinkling eyes when we arrived were the crazy rides, carefully assembled by the great teams that work hard through these few months .
I really appreciate the efforts that made this show so colorful and memorable one for me :)

Oh and especially the kids, they go sugar high when they see the range of Showbags displayed !
It's massive I tell you. Lil' kids would beg till their parents get them at least one Showbag.
Yes yes before i forget, a Showbag is basically a bag (duh) that has stuffs like candies, chocs, toys, magazines, fruit juice vouchers, stationaries etc.. It depends on what kinda Showbag you purchace really, some people just love chocolates and they would head straight to the M&M booth and grab one. The price varies from $1 to $40.
There's the ALL Boys Showbag, Disney Princess Showbags, OK! Magazine Showbag, SpongeBob Showbag and the list goes on and on...

This is only a small part of the Showbag stalls

The sweet things you see hanging there are stuffs that are included in the ShowBags :P
Anyway, this is just the candy section, they had other stuffs like Hannah Montana Showbags , Gossip Girl Showbag and Adelaide Football Club Showbag !

Then there were the indoor entertainments such as

Jenny Gillies Wearable Blooms , where performers dressed up as trees, flowers and even cactus to mark the coming of Spring !

Here are the 3 beautiful things I've learnt from BU conference :

#1. We live by what we see .
Speaking of sight, today my pastor shared about how our vision can influence us spiritually.
You see , what see see with our eyes, feeds in to our soul.
So be very careful of what we FEED our EYES, so our soul and spirit will not be corrupted or go cacat.. haha !
It's important that we guard our sight, as in the bible it states :" without vision the people perish", can't remember which verse is tht.. Oops..

#2. We live by how we feel.
More often than not, emotions tend to dictate how we should live our life.
And soon before we know it, it becomes reality.
So base our foundation in the Holy Spirit, He shall guide us in our daily life.

#3. We live according to what people think about us.
Remember the 12 spies that Moses to explore Canaan? Numbers 13
In verse 33" We seemed like grasshoppers in OUR own eyes, and we looked the same to them.
What can you pick up from this short verse?
The spies with their own eyes saw what was good and saw what was "bad".
These spies reported back based on what they feel others think about them.
The felt they were like teeny tiny grasshoppers, and could be easily WHOOPED by the strong Canaanites.
You see , these spies live according to what others think about them, hence spread the news to the whole community.
Which in turn, caused the community to turn to unbelief that Canaan land was not for them.
Hence, live your life according to what JESUS thinks about you.
We are precious in His sight,and not to be compared to the world, for they do not set the standards for us to measure up.
But we are to set an example for them, as stated in 1 Timothy 4:12.

It's been 7 months since I left home ( M'sia).
Sometimes i miss them, sometimes i don't.
Sometimes i miss the sun, sometimes i don't.
Sometimes i miss the food, sometimes i don't.

But hey it's already the 7th month I'm here in Adelaide.

They are Wei Qin and Lydea both from our friendly neighboring country,Singapore xD

Together we had a wonderful housewarming party last Saturday. It was an eventful day, lots of food, catchin' up with one another, meeting new people and *click click camera*

It's more than "HoHoHO"

Firstly I wanna thank the committee for giving us the opportunity to work as a team to organise C.I.J . It's been a pleasure to work with Caleb, Janet, Derrick, Katrina, Jasmine, Sally, Erwin, Lear, Ashley, David and Nathania. Not forgetting the early morning SMS-es from Sarah and late-night sms-es from Ashley, it was really encouraing to know that you awesome people has been there for us.

Christmas is not about snow, presents or for the matter whether Jesus was born in a cave or a stable. But it's a day to remember He came down to earth , lived and made a difference for generations to come. Presents are a form of giving and sharing what we've got to others.
So what do you have that's in you, and it doesn't cost you a cent to share with others?
It has got to be the love of Christ =)

Results are out since last week.
I couldn't stop thinking why have i gotten such results.
Some said, "you've got too high expectation", "it's okay try harder", "stupid lecturers lah they don't know how to mark wan", etc etc ...

It kept playing in my mind. Was I not good enough? Did i not try hard enough?
Tears didn't just trickled down my cheek, it was like you know the song "Cry me a river"?
yeah, you got the idea. Anyhow, I was talking to others about what I was going thru . It didn't make much sense to me at all, until Thursday came.

It was Girl's Ministry, 'Who am I' shared by Esther. We did some 40 questions that would link us up to what sort of personality we attained. My result came out as Melancholy.
And i was like, huh are you kidding me?
It described me as a 'Let's do it the right way' kind of person.

ACCORDING to that personality summary:
My key strengths are ability to organize, set long-range goals, have high standards and ideals and analyze deeply.
I get depressed when life is out of order, standards aren't met, and when no one seems to care.
This kind of personality would tend to marry Sanguine for their personalities and social skills.
And heaps other infos... go do the test and ask that guy/girl you admire, see if your personality matches. LOL !

Anyways, yeah after reading the whole paragraph of summary, it somewhat described me.
*smacks on the head* Oh no... I didn't realize I'm like that.
But hey, whether we're Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholy or Phlegmatic, there are people who still loves us nonetheless.

This brings to the answer that i've long waited.
You see, God doesn't care if I've got HD or P1. What He cares most is whether this heart of mine still loves him, despite achieving those results. It's the course of journey that matters.
Ever heard of "Happiness is the journey and not the destination".
It's so true, many times we try to pursue this and that, in the end are we going to bring those possesions to eternity? I'm not saying scoring a mere P1, is good enough . And it's not wrong to set high expectation, afterall He wants us to excel in what we do, correcto?

If you don't remember a single thing after reading this post, just take this with you :
Allow God to accompany your every single step in life, it's the journey with Him that matters most.

There's still room for improvement , for sure.

I woke up about 8 30 this morning.
Glanced at the slightly drawn curtain and caught a glimpse of th gray gloomy skies.
It's another rainy day i thought.
But that didn't keep me in bed, instead I got up, had a bowl of yummy yoghurt and a good handful of grapes thrown in .
*yah-mieee*

Hmm.. is this day going to pass just like any other day I thought.
I prayed that it's not going to be a gloomy sorrow-fied day for me. No way. No Emo emo please, despite the rain-washed window.

Surprise came knocking at my door around noon time, Joyce and her roommate came to my apartment and we had a light chat. And they brought freshly baked Corn Flakes cookies and blueberry muffins . *yums* Speaking of being blessed , I have been wanting to bake those cookies for weeks, but haven't got the chance .

And it's aweseom to have Mey back from Sydney Hillsongs Conference , geeez I miss having people at home. One person all alone at home, is no fun . Last night after we had dinner together, we ate Sticky Date Pudding for dessert. Imagine the sweet sticky feeling on your tongue and a spoonful of vanilla ice-cream to complement it . It's been a blessing living with Mey, really.

God sure has His way to bless us doesn't He?

Brrrr.. it's winter ! With the strong winds beating against the sliding door, this calls for warm comfort food to soothe this darling heart !

Chicken Pot Pie it is this time. Just that, it's not cooked in a pot, but it's baked in the oven :)

See how the puff pastry turned golden brown , it's the perfect dish for a freezing cold night. The fillings, we add button mushrooms, zucchini,sweet potatoes, chicken, green peas, sweet corn and garlic. It's absolute fabulous :)

As for dessert, we made 'Olemonrangy muffins' .

It's an awesome SaturDay :D

Mey my hommie ,taught me and a couple of friends how to make Wan Tan ! Ahhh .. it was an awesome experience . Since i love eating them, i too should learn to make 'em.

Mix the mince pork with spring onions, 3 different kinds ofy sauce, salt, pepper, and mushrooms!

Alas, some green in the dish. We not only attempted to make the Wan Tan, but also mixing the noodles in black sauce !

This is Mey :) The expert in cooking and baking. Ahh.. yes -she's chopping up mushrooms !

The sweet soy sauce, chinese wine, and hmmm another bottle of sauce? I forgot the name :P

Time to fill those 'money bags' !

Now now...don't laugh okay. I tried really hard to fold them close enough to look like wan tan !
It was heaps of fun, and we even googled ' How to make wan tan?' And while folding them, we were listening to some CHINESE songs on Mey's laptop . Ahh... it's been quite awhile since i last heard Jay Chou's songs!

It's a really cold morning . I walked to the post office located just at the corner of the street to collect a parcel left for my housemate . When i've arrived, i handed a slip to the man behind the counter. Later did i know , i had to carry an identification card to certify that i have the authority to pick up the parcel. Silly me !! I've left my purse behind *urgh* So off i walked back home, walkning past the same row of shops and enjoying the cold breeze, as i glanced at the skies, it was becoming cloudy . 'Never mind', i said, thinking that i've still got time to spare to get my purse and collect the parcel.

Once i've reached home, i thought *sigh* 'why lah Eva you so careless, now you've gotta walk out in the cold , walk down the street, pass a couple of traffic lights, pass a few rows of shop, just to get the parcel'. After making sure i've got what i needed, i put on my sport shoes and head for the door knob. Just as i was reaching for it, the door knob jolted and someone was tempering with it. I heard one man's voice and another woman.

I wasn't expecing visitor man.. Without thinking twice, i opened the door and looked straight at the man's face. He was shocked , and the woman stood still. Almost immediately,

the man : "Is this number 12 D?
me : " *shakes head* still a bit blurr..."
man : " did you just asked for cleaning service? "
me: *shakes head again* and i know i looked blank at the moment
man: " oh sorry mate, we must have got to the wrong house" And they both left my entrance and head downstairs.

I was like.. *huh? what just happened?* But i felt as if the Holy Spirit was telling me, those 2 people are no good. I prayed for protection over my unit and left quickly to the post office and get the parcel. On the way back, i saw the two strange fellas heading out of my apartment residential area and walking towards their car. I quickened my pace and took note of their car number plate.

Finally finally, when i got in my apartment i double checked everythig, making sure nothing was stolen. *phhew* It's all safe :) My housemate has left for work early this morning and i sat in the living room thinking what just happened and shivered, staring in space. "How did i manage to pull open the door and stared at the man's face?" "Why didn't I hide in my room when i heard the door knob cracking? "

Then it all occured to me, it was His grace and His strength that enabled me to stand up and face off with these 2 people. Wow, i really thank God for His protection !!! And thank you jie jie Adelyn for calling me this morning , it was comforting to hear from you after what had just happened.

All praise to my one and only Heavenly Father . You're indeed my shield and strong tower !

Firstly, I accidentally cut my fingers ( thumb n middle finger) of my right hand. That makes typing and writing a bit troublesome, plus the band aid wrapping around it, makes it even uncomfortable *sob*

Then this evening, when i went with Li Eng to play Captain Ball with AU people, whoa ! Crazinesss...
- blisters on each foot ( seems that my sport shoe is upset with me today *grrr*)
- scratches on my knees ( i think i've tripped more than 3 times during the game and kept banging into people)

Hola mi amigos !

I've been busy with a couple of stuffs lately, hence the lack of updates on this bloggie of mine. I can sense the loneliness already.

Current update on me ? Hmm.. for the past few days i've been burried up by my beloved Spanish textbook. Wheeeepeeedeedoooeey ! I've just sat for Spanish test today at 1p.m. Mixed feelings rushed thru me as soon as i hand up my paper. Firstly, i know i did my best and i somehow feel i did better than last time. Secondly, after making my exit from the classroom, my classmate Rue was standing RIGHT there waiting for me. And all at once, i knew what our next topic would be.

......."how did you do just now? " .....Damn.. i knew i should have not erase that !....Nah, it was easier than i thought. " ... blah blah blah..

Anyways, both of us knew we did our best alright. *smiles*

Why? you may think. Because i believe it is by one slightest choice that i make, that will make a whole lot of difference to my day. For instance, i can choose to have one bar of cadbury milk chocolate for breakfast, and feel all guitly and imagining fats pilling up on my already apparent spare tyre.. haha..

After Spanish class today, I decided to drop by the library to return some books. On my way there, well i just thought ... hmm.. it's going to be a great day today . And so i smiled to myself. I didn't realise that i was smiling pass a lady (lecturer) just round the corner, when she called to me.

This is our short short conversation :

Lady : Hi, hello there.. are you from my class?

Me : *blurr look* Your class? errr...no

Lady : owh .. hmm.. well, cause you smiled at me, and i just thought you were one of my students. You see , i was just teaching a whole bunch of them at lecture. Can never remember every single one, can you?

Me h: haha.. yeah .

Lady: Well thanks agian for smiling at me

Me : *smiles*

Hmmm.. and now i am reminded again the value of a smile ! It doesn't cost you anything, but it is bound to brighten up someone's Day !

V-Day out

This is where we went and what we did on V-Day in Adelaide :P

Kien's friend, Jon who has been living here at Adey for 5 years now, brought us to chill out at Glenelg beach and Henley beach last last last super last Saturday ! *it's a really late post* hehe..

So yeah, as i was saying.. We hit the beach at about 4pm-ish, it was uber hot and sunny but not humid for sure ! The wind was blowing gently on my hair and I was so excited to feel the soft white sands under my feet. It's really really clean here, no muddy dirty polluted sand. The sea was just the color as i had pictured in my mind. It's one of those moments when you feel so at ease and you feel like literally sleeping on the soft sands.

Whee.. another update from me !

It's a pancakey morning :)

Today Rae and I brought my mommy to Pancake Kitchen situated at Grenfell Street! It's the only restaurant that operates 24 hours, bars and pubs don't include .

have a smooth hot chocolate to kick start your morning and a plateful of pancake topped with Jamaican banana and walnuts to satisfy your appetite!

And so the day continued with O' Hunt, a fun-filled amazing race in the city organized by Oxygen ! We were all divided into teams 0f 3-4 in a group , and each was given a clue to start off. The first clue was to find a balloonie at the campus's computer barns. Gosh... as soon as these people got their first clue, they ran so fast and in a blink of an eye , *poof* and they're gone to find the next clue. We ran up and down the staircase of the uni to find that balloonie, who knows... he was sitting comfortably at the corner of the uni's building ! Arrgghh.. everyone scrambled to their feet and tried to get hold of the second clue.

So basically this game runs by task, we had to complete each task given to use to get the next clue ! All in all we had 4 tasks to complete, and on top of that we are given a list of 22 items to capture with our camera . My group which we call ourselves the Supreme Survivors ,consists of Dan ( group leader) , Amanda Cheong and myself. We managed to snap 17 pics out of 22 items, which was a good attempt, though there were some wrong ones, as we were not sure if that was what they required.

Not another history questions please.. None of us knew who was the founder, so we went ahead and snap some random dude on a horse, which obviously was the wrong guy ! hahaha..

Oh goodness me, it's been a long long time since i last click on this site. I can sense the loneliness it felt since i left for Adelaide.

Sorry ppl for not updating this blog of mine. I admit it's my bad and yeah procrastination lah !

A little update on me, i still don't ahve a stable internet connection . And have been relying on the uni's wi-fi conenction. Oh gosh, nothing is free here man, we have to top up our internet quota, now i am begining to miss the good old times i had at taylors ( free internet usage). I am pretty much settled in my new apartment, currently staying in with Rachel Au , Kien and Sherry. I dare say we're like the noisest lot in the block ! Everything is so quiet, except the rustling sound of the leaves and the silly birds that kept on chirping NoN stop in the early morning >.<

The lifestyle here is pretty slow, free and easy. No such thing as traffic jams and highways in the city . And by the way, pedestrian is KING ! The drivers here are really ethical ( not tht M'sian aren't), as they don't just ZoOOM whenever they see human beings wanting to cross the road. And yea, we have female bus drivers here, and man they are also a bunch of polite people. So far my experiences here has been fairly good.

I guessed you've heard of the big bad fat flies which appears during summer. They are not like the flies back in M'sia, they fly so slow that you can just smack them with your bare hands. So it's happy swatting flies for me, once you enter my kitchen, you'll never get out ALIVE !!

*fyi: i dun swat them with my bare hands*

okay okay, enough of my keganasan ~

Let's go back to the last few days i had in M'sia :

The lil' pink piggy(Kopi) is sitting on my bed, and i'll hug it to sleep every nite!

I can't forget the night we had a variety of ice-creams flavour all at one go !

At the airport :

I would wanna thank everyone who came all the way to the airport to send me off . It was hard for me not to cry lah, although i kept on telling myself 'dun cry dun cry' ... still those tears trickled down my cheek. Seeing you guys for the last time, was simply overwhelming . From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your love, well wishes and support !

Last Saturday, before Joanne and I head to the Absolute bazaar which was an absolute bomb for us girls ... we had Dim Sum with Alden, Jason and Mun Suet at ss14 . It's been ages since the last I saw Alden, my pak cik from Thailand ! As for Jason, well we all know what he has been up to right? More camwhoring and staying at home. Not to forget, Mun Suet has been pretty productive lately, she's currently working with a survey company. Last but not least, Joanne Mah, who recently just got promoted to the P.A. rank has been diligently helping her parents to look after their shop back at her hometown.

After a long breakaway from our assignemnts and wat nots, we decided to meet up for a round of good ol' catchin up with one another !

The thing wit me and dim sum , well not only dim sum lah.. I eat less PORK items :0
Not that i anti Pork or anything, i mean it just tasted weird, especially lap cheong when fried with omellete. aiks @_@ i cannot tahan the taste. Wat a combination !
As to all pork lovers, makanlah sebanyak sesuka anda :P

and more food ...

After the feasting and all, we head to Absolute bazaar which is situated at 3k Inn Hotel. Joy joy joy !
We girls had the time of our life picking clothes, necklaces, shoes, bags, hair accessories and belts from stall to stall. No pictures we taken at the bazaar, as EVERYONE is too busy choosing what fits them best !

After splurging our $$ on clothes and wat not, Joanne and I left to 1 Utama to meet up with Raymond Teoh and Justin Shanker . We had lunch at 3JC, a restaurant that serves averagely delicious noodles. It was good catch up session :)

Soon it was time for us to head to church, thankfully th traffic wasn't that bad . Deng!! the rain was really heavy that evening, but we still arrived safely and of course on time bah !
As usual before we disperse after the service, our cell group went to yumcha at Nathan's situated at OUG. We were tailing Pui San to the mamak, when she finally realized that she too was sesat. We waited n waited for our cg leader to direct us the way. Alas, sampai jugalah .

It was a night accompanied with good food , good fellowship and an awesome birthday surprise for Joanne Mah.

The land below the wind -Sabah !

Last December, me and my siblings and a few friends made a trip to Kota Kinabalu. Initially we had trouble on where to stay for the week. Thankfully, God answered our prayers by providing us a place to stay at Waikiki Condominium. It has a breathtaking view of the beach, furthermore the food court was just a stone throws away. On the day we arrived, our dear uncle Robert (mom's bro) came to fetch us. Towards the evening, we went walking at the beach. My oh my.. how i missed the 'ketam-ketam kecil' ! Every step we took on the sand, the crabb-ies were sent scurrying away into their deep dark holes.
So yeah, the main reason why I went back Sabah was .... to conquer Mount KK !

Thousands of steps to go ...

waterFALLLL ! wahahaha.. it's been a long time since i last saw one ...

and it's feeding squirrels time :) we saw lots of them at every pondok !

It was tough, tiring, and the cold was piercing into our bones...

Last but not least, me catch Mr. Sun on the rise at 5 45am ! *yahooo*

Not only did we manage to overcome the freezing ice cold mountain, we overcomed our fears towards jelly fishes when we went island hopping.

It was the jellyfish season when we went visiting the 3 islands
(Pulau Mamutik, Manukan and Sapi) .
Well, nobody told us it was until we arrived to a signboard stuck in the sand stating :
" Swim at your own risk, it is the jelly fish season" !
How comforting heh ~

Immediately they got into to their boat , and gave chase to the already drown umbrella.

The moment we arrived, Li Yi brought us to try the Curry Chicken Bread. It's uber yummy okay! It's filled with chuncky succulent chicken meat and soft potatoes. All you gotta do is kopek the bread and dunk into the warm curry gravy and savour it !

Liyi had 3JC in Curry, a good mixed of everything you would want in a bowl of noodle.

A Cavey experience

Last Saturday, Liyi and me went to catch the much talked about ( among girls lah) High School Musical 3 !

The one song i love most after watching this movie would be 'Can I have this dance'.
Dancing on the rooftop garden , Troy & Gabriella ...awww so sweet .
Okay okay enough with the sweetness, moving on >>>

So yeah, after the movie we drove all the way to SS2 to fill our tummy with some goodies.
And we found this :

Debutantes spotted !

Yeah baby !
Am back from the whole debutante experience . Last Saturday was the BOMB =p

Most of us girls started applying make up and getting our hair styled by late noon.
Later me and my R.AGE buddies along with Jun Keat and his geng went to KLCC in 2 cars. The moment we hop off the car, we rushed to the ballroom to rehearse for the last time before the magical night begins. After practicing for half n hour or so, we head to the waiting room where everyone changed to their tux/tailcoats/white floor length dress.

The ladies had to start putting up their tiara and white gloves
by 5pm for fear that they didn't have sufficient time to do touch up.
Thanks Irene for fixin' me sparkly tiara *muaks*
The dudes had no crowns to show off, but a pair of neat white gloves to pair everything up.
All of us looked so awesome gorgeous don't we?

That night the R.AGE got to meet up with our dear designer
Mr. Alvin Tay and his fellow friend Director Allan. I had the opportunity to get a close up and personal chat with Syafinaz Selamat *beams* There were so many many prominent figures that attended the Viennese Ball 2008 , more than 600 guests packed the entire ballroom.

The last dance was the best, as we (debutantes) get to invite our guests to the dance floor. Yay! That was the awesome-mest part. Singers, artistes, ministers, directors.... and the list goes on were dancing along with us . What a lovely experience. The Orchestra team flown from Vienna was playing live for us when we dance the night away. My my... i was totally blown away =)

To top it off, all of us went to the after party at the lounge. Where they served free-flow champagne and other chilled beverages. A live band was there to amuse the crowd, and get them going on the dance floor. Salsa, samba and latin was the hit that night ! Professional or not, everyone was dancing away under the colorful spotlight. The part i didn't like was when the smokers start puffing away their health hazard sticks. These guys just can't control themselves can they? Oh never mind them, we got back home at 4am that night.
I was all stinky when i arrived home, mixture of sweaty, ppl's body odour, smokes all over my body . *eeeeeuwwe* @_@
Slept at 5am after shower and make up removed.
And now.. am as sick as ever -cough, flu, sore throat... I beg u all 3 to leave me okay?

Just last Thursday ( 2nd October) , me, Liyi and Isabell went Pyramid to jalan-jalan.
We had lunch at Gasoline =) It's a cool cafe i tell you .. The theme is so Pirate-ish .
Whenever I dine at Gasoline, I would call for their Seafood Cheese Cracker snack , it's really cheesy and yummy man, so give it a try yeah?

TA DAAAAA !!

YAY to me ! I've got myself a pair of Ballroom heels *gila gila look* hahaha ...

After my dance practice this afternoon, I head straight to Dynamic Dance Studio to get myself a LOVELY pair of ballroom heels *shrieks* It cost me RM190 . Read again ...RM190 !!! I dare say this is the most expensive high heels I ever got for myself. Oh well, at least it is still cheaper than my Jazz Shoes which cost me RM250 .

Ah but this is not the actual heels am going to put on during the Viennese Ball on October 25th . I shall need to purchase another one in WHITE color. Sadly, the shoemaker told me I had to wait for about 3 weeks (custom made it) if i wanted white. So yeah, for the time being I'll just be contented with my skin color satin heels =)

I was feeling low that morning, didn't know I was scheduled to teach them also. So i went down to Level 2, and got the reading material and skimmed thru. The topic i had to cover for that day was 'The Greedy Man'. The moment I swing open the door, these adorable kids greeted me with their sweetest smiles ! It's like fresh breeze of fresh air just swept thru the entire room. My heart melted at the sight of the smiles painted on their chubby cheeks. * cubit cubit* haha!
Fond memories of me childhood popped in me head. These kids sure made my day all better .

So yeah, I told them the story in my own words. More like in their own "baby-ish" language. haha! Thanks Su Ann for being my helper. And yes, thanks Cassie for helping the kids with their roti canai, mee goreng, and nasi lemak packets. I really appreciate your efforts.

I cried for the first time ever in cinema while watching Money No Enough 2. I brought corn flakes to crunch while watching the movie. Low fat , healthy and save your money . *grins* You may do the same next time, be sure not to get caught.
So heart warming , touching, meaningful betul .

And and...finally finally.... I get to meet up with my fellow debutantes.
They are : Celine Choo, Hao Yang, Sasha, Aki, Marcus, Amir and Andy. However, thre are two others which I have not meet up with them personally. By the way, tonight's dance lesson was awesome! Super super fun man !! What a joy to be able to learn Watlz with professiona dancers .
And yeah, for the first i get to learn this dance with a partner. Wheeeeee =)

Am so looking forward to tmr's dance lesson.
